Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in Richmond, London and online & telephone therapy
Welcome to my website. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist based in London. My private practice is in Richmond, London and I also offer online therapy for OCD, Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Low Self-Esteem and Perfectionism. Telephone therapy can also be pursued instead of online based sessions.
My focus is on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is an effective and short term method of psychotherapy. Its treatment approach is very scientific and has proven to be effective in treating problems such as Anxiety, Stress, Low Self-Esteem, Addiction, OCD and Depression. A strong focus is on gaining insight into your difficulties and developing an increased awareness of how automatic problematic patterns such as behaviours express themselves. Based on that, we then see which elements of CBT you can practice in order to directly address relevant difficulties in your life. |
Although my main focus is on CBT, I heavily incorporate other scientifically underpinned approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy and Evolutionary Psychology. My main approach to CBT is called the UCL Case Formulation model. Unlike the CBT one may experience in the NHS through an IAPT self referral, the focus is on getting a tailored understanding of your difficulties. This enables are more effective treatment since cookie cutter approaches aren't the best fit for everyone. Such a tailored understanding will provide many benefits including helping you recognise as your problems start getting worse, whilst providing you with the tools to effectively address these. This helps avoid the snowball unconsciously getting bigger. A focus is on keeping any tools as simple as possible whilst at the same time providing a maximum benefit, as you won't be inclined to use complex techniques when you are feeling distressed.
I have appeared in numerous publications including The Guardian, Yahoo News, Fortune Magazine, Huffington Post and the Metro Newspaper and have also published in scientific journals. I am heavily invested in disseminating many of the valuable insights cognitive behavioural psychotherapy can provide towards the general public in order to provide as wide a benefit as possible. Please send any media enquiries towards the mail logo at the bottom or through the "BOOK A Session" link.
I have also run many treatment programmes (OCD and Depression) at the world famous Priory Hospital whilst working there as a full-time Psychotherapist and own the London based therapy referral service seekapsych.com. I am experienced in treating clients as diverse as students to senior policy makers. I offer psychotherapy in both German and English. I have been practising as a psychotherapist since 2012 and continue to do so on a full time professional basis. My training mirrors that which is required to become a psychotherapist or clinical psychologist in Germany in that I have a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Intelligence Research and next to much further training in CBT from institutions such as the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, I also hold a PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. Due to the complexity of psychotherapy, I strongly believe that it requires a full time professional approach.

People have different needs and it can be hard to know what kind of psychotherapy is suitable for yourself. Some experience consistently declining relationships with those around them which in turn can lead to bitterness and withdrawal. Others find that their constant pleasing in order to avoid being disliked gets them disliked even more, whilst some experience consistent distress or anxiety throughout their daily routines. Understanding what exactly is going on can be very important in order to be able to successfully address your difficulties, as this create the basis to effectively address your difficulties and in some cases creates a life worth living in the first place. Whether you are looking for private OCD therapy or generally wan't to get a handle on things, don't just endure life but create a life that propels you instead of holding you down.
